Desexing a dog is one of the most frequent Vet procedures for dogs in Australia.
As it is optional for pet owners to choose to have their animal desexed, unless you take out our best pet insurance plan, Comprehensive Protect with the extra Routine Care option, we will not cover towards the cost of desexing. If you do choose to take out Comprehensive Protect with the extra Routine Care option you'll receive an extra $165 dollars to spend on the routine care of your dog, $70 of which can be used to pay for desexing.
With the Routine Care option, for a monthly premium of $9.50 (including GST and statutory charges) you will receive annual benefits of:
- $30 – Vaccinations or health check
- $10 – Heartworm test or blood screen
- $10 – FeLv/Fiv test or urinalysis
- $45 – Flea /tick/worm control
Plus an additional $70 annual benefit for any one of the following services: desexing, microchipping, heartworm preventative medication, teeth cleaning, council registration fees, alternative therapies, prescription diets, de-clawing or cremation / burial.
